In the 1960's and 1970's, Yugoslavians built monumental sculptures to commemorate World War II.
These "Spomeniks" (sculptures) were eerie and unusual representations that numbered in the thousands and attracted much attention.
Largely neglected and forgotten today, these amazing sculptures have been documented by photographer, Jan Kempenaers, who travelled to the former Yugoslavia where he captured these beautiful and haunting art objects in his book, Spomenik.
